Amanda Larson, LSW
Amanda Larson, LSW is a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She has experience supporting young adults, adults, and older adults in outpatient and crisis intervention settings. With both individuals and groups, frequent topics include grief and loss, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and related challenges. She provides inclusive, grief- and trauma-informed, person-centered care grounded in mindfulness, empathy, and compassion.
Amanda brings decades of experience building meaningful, supportive relationships into this second career, following more than twenty years working in documentary filmmaking, nonprofits, and education. Her passion for grief and loss therapy is shaped by early experiences in the veterinary and community health fields, as well as recent lived experience as a cancer patient.
Amanda is working towards certifications in Grief Therapy, Life Transitions, and Women’s Mental Health, and volunteers at Good Grief, a family bereavement center, and FORCE, a national nonprofit supporting hereditary cancer patients and their families.
